Imagine you are raising money to setup water pumps and a single water pump costs £35.
If you wanted to setup a donation form for this campaign, previously you would have to do one of two things:
- Make lots of options to cover the suitable amounts
- Allow the user to enter a custom amount
The former being unsuitable because there are so many combinations of amounts the user might want to select and the latter being unsuitable because it would require the donor to calculate the right amount they need to donate based on the price of one water pump which is inconvenient.
In comes stepped donation amounts…
We implemented the ability to have stepped donation amounts and what this essentially means is that you can specify base amounts and allow the user to enter a quantity to easily donate in multiples of those base amounts.
To use stepped donation amounts you need to edit your form and select the stepped pricing option as shown:
Then your donors will see the following:
and they will be able to select a base price (option) and enter a quantity:
